Forgive me blog for I have sinned. It has been almost a month since I last posted on my blogspot. However my time has been engaged with the time waster that is Farmville and blogging on a smaller scale via Twitter. I don't want to sound incredibly lazy, but Twitter is a godsend for lazy/busy people (one can be both!)
I'm usually not very competitive, but Farmville is another story; I'm competing with my friend to see who can move up the levels quicker. You'd think we could compete in a more productive way, like seeing who can keep up with their assigned readings? I don't know if it's only in my campus, but it's probably the biggest time waster for students since Myspace/Facebook. Honestly why are all these future teachers, nurses, lawyers, and garbage personnel so intrigued with a virtual farming game? Well, no one has explained the appeal of Hanna Montana or Ugg Boots to me either.
On the other hand, I am proud to say I have a twitter, at least now I do. Originally, I was skeptical because I saw too much over-sharing in tweets. Real names appear on their Twitter page and yet some still use it as a platform to flame others or to share TMI from last night. I've read tweets from people I farely know, but don't really"know" and some of them come across as "Trying too hard to be seen as the "party person" or as the "Overachiever with a drinking problem."
Well if someone read my tweets they'd probably think I was a bit of a space cadet; I usually post my daily achievements, random thoughts, or the days funniest remarks. I like reading my tweets a week later and laughing or cheering myself up with them. Twitter although constricting with its' 140 character limit makes it much easier to keep up with friends, It serves as its' own RSS feed, and I can continue with the positives like tweeting via text, but I'll stop at being able to keep up with friends.
Now that I think about, I need to get off the Twitter and off the Farmville and go do something worthy of a post. or a tweet. or a round of Farmville.
